About the Role

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse at The Harrogate Vet, you'll be at the heart of promoting pet wellness. This 40-hour-per-week role spans two carefully located practices on either side of Harrogate, with easy access from Leeds, York, and the surrounding areas. The stunning Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is close by for those who love the outdoors.

You'll work across 4 or 5 days with shared Saturday morning cover (1 in 4 rota). Leeds Road offers a welcoming community-practice feel, while Rippon Way operates as a 24/7 hospital and referral centre for advanced imaging and complex cases. With ISFM Gold Cat Friendly accreditation, Zero Pain Practice status, and a strong fear-free ethos, you'll work in an environment committed to personalised care and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care, running wards and monitoring recovery across both sites
• Deliver nurse consults and clinics to patients and their owners
• Monitor anaesthetics for first and second operations
• Support and mentor student nurses in their clinical journey
• Support all aspects of clinical work as part of the nursing team
• Maintain excellent standards of practice care and contribute to positive patient outcomes
• Communicate with confidence, building strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and patients

Requirements

• Current RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse qualification
• Some experience as a qualified veterinary nurse with confidence in all nursing areas
• Competence in anaesthetic monitoring and ward management
• Interest in clinical coaching is desirable but not essential
• Passion for delivering exceptional care to patients and their owners

About the Practice

The Harrogate Vet, part of CVS Veterinary Group, operates two modern facilities serving Harrogate and the surrounding region. The practice combines community-focused first-opinion care with advanced specialist services. Facilities include digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, multiparameters, endoscopy, CT scanning, in-house lab equipment, cat-only consulting room, and separate cat and dog wards.

The team includes certificate holders in surgery, medicine, and imaging. CVS is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued.
