About the Role
You'll take on a unique leadership position as Senior Clinical Director, overseeing Silverton Vets, Seymour Vets and Dart Vale Vets across South Devon. This is a strategic and operational role designed to drive consistency, performance and engagement across multiple sites whilst maintaining visible local presence.
Your clinical commitment sits at approximately 30-40%, with the remainder dedicated to people leadership, operational oversight and administrative support. You'll work closely with the Regional Director, maintain monthly on-site visits, hold regular business-as-usual meetings, and use data-driven performance management to identify opportunities and manage risk proactively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead clinical strategy and operational performance across three practices (Silverton Vets, Seymour Vets, Dart Vale Vets)
- Manage budgets and P&L responsibility across the regional group
- Provide people-first leadership, prioritising staff wellbeing, development and workload balance
- Maintain visible leadership presence through defined engagement rhythms and regular on-site visits
- Use KPI dashboards to drive data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement
- Deputy for the Regional Director when required and manage leadership continuity
- Handle complaints management, gather performance insights and manage urgent communications
- Take the lead on key projects and demonstrate flexibility in approach
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and recruitment teams on organisational objectives
- Support 30-40% clinical caseload as required
Requirements
- Qualified veterinary surgeon (MRCVS)
- Proven experience managing multiple sites
- Demonstrated ownership of budgets and P&L management
- Experience in people leadership and team development
- Flexible approach and ability to lead key projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
