Twilight Veterinary Patient Care Assistant

About the Role

This twilight Patient Care Assistant role is based at CVS Vets 24/7, Highcroft Veterinary Hospital in Bristol. It is a permanent position for 28 hours per week, with shifts running Monday to Sunday from 18.00 to 03.00 on a 5 shifts on, 5 shifts off pattern.

You will be supporting RVNs and vets in a busy small animal hospital setting, helping to keep patients comfortable, cared for and ready for treatment. The work includes emergency calls, patient handling and day to day practical support across the clinical and reception teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support RVNs and vets with patient care and animal restraint
• Walk, feed and clean inpatients
• Prepare emergency and operating areas
• Carry out general cleaning and maintenance tasks
• Run internal laboratory samples
• Answer emergency calls
• Support the reception team with booking appointments and processing payments when needed

Requirements

• Experience in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning and handling, is essential
• Customer service and public interaction skills
• Strong communication skills
• Empathy, kindness and professionalism when handling emotional situations
• A positive, team focused approach
• Previous veterinary environment experience is preferred
