Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

This is a part-time Veterinary Receptionist role across The Old Golfhouse Veterinary Centre in Thetford and Watton. You will work 24 hours during the week, with a 1:6 Saturday rotation at Thetford, covering 8am to 1pm.

The practice describes itself as forward-thinking, progressive, supportive, friendly, loyal and honest. It is a first opinion small animal setting across two sites in the Norfolk and Suffolk countryside, and the team says the role offers real autonomy to make a difference to both colleagues and the client journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage incoming calls and book appointments efficiently.
• Respond to client queries by phone, email and in person.
• Welcome and register new clients.
• Process insurance forms.
• Dispense medications as required.
• Take payments accurately and efficiently.
• Support clients with empathy during difficult moments.
• Use the in-house system to organise patients.
• Liaise with other veterinary practices when needed.
• Handle calls about debts, belongings and refunds.

Requirements

• Previous receptionist experience is essential.
• Veterinary reception experience is a bonus.
• Strong communication skills and genuine empathy.
• Good customer service skills and experience dealing with the public.
• A positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and database systems.
