About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time Veterinary Surgeon position at Knox & Devlin Veterinary Centre, with 40 hours worked across 4 or 5 days. The rota includes 1 in 5 Saturday morning shifts, and there is no out-of-hours work required.

The role is split between operations and consults, and would suit a vet with a surgical interest. You will be joining a supportive, stable and improvement-focused team at a practice that is happy to tailor caseloads to individual strengths and career aspirations.

Whaley Bridge offers a countryside setting on the edge of the Peak District, with direct rail links to Manchester nearby. The practice serves a loyal client base in an affluent area and is continuing to invest in its services as it grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out a mix of surgery and consults as part of the day-to-day caseload.
• Lead on surgical and medical cases, along with diagnostic investigations.
• Support and mentor colleagues as part of a collaborative clinical team.
• Contribute to shaping clinical standards and best practice.
• Work with caseloads that can be tailored to individual strengths and career goals.

Requirements

• You should be a Veterinary Surgeon with strong clinical autonomy.
• A surgical interest is important for this role.
• You should be confident handling surgical and medical cases.
• You should be comfortable carrying out diagnostic investigations.
• You should enjoy supporting colleagues and working as part of a team.

About the Practice

Knox & Devlin Veterinary Centre is an RCVS-accredited general practice and part of CVS Veterinary Group. The team includes 5 vets, 5 nurses and a PCA, with one vet currently undertaking a certificate in dermatology.

The practice has digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental radiography, diathermy equipment and separate dog and cat wards. CVS also supports colleagues with central HR, recruitment, payroll, IT, finance and procurement teams, alongside a multi-million-pound improvement fund for practice facilities.
