Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This part time Veterinary Surgeon role is based at Woking Veterinary Centre in Surrey and offers up to 24 hours per week. The rota includes a 1 in 4 Saturday shift from 8am to 7pm, and the practice type is first opinion.

You will be joining a small animal specialist site within CVS Veterinary Group, with a modern purpose built setting, a friendly and collaborative culture, and a team that includes vets, nurses, PCAs and receptionists. The site has a brand new CT scanner, advanced diagnostic imaging and a separate dental suite with dental X rays, while the wider redevelopment is set to upgrade almost the entire practice into a modern veterinary hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Take the lead on surgical and medical cases.
• Carry out diagnostic investigations with precision.
• Handle a varied small animal caseload with clinical autonomy.
• Provide guidance and support to the wider team.
• Contribute to shaping clinical standards.
• Support clients with clear communication and reassuring care.

Requirements

• Ideally 2 to 3 plus years of experience.
• Strong medical knowledge.
• Experience in routine and emergency surgery.
• Good communication skills.
• A passion for excellent patient care and client service.
• Confidence to work as an experienced vet with clinical autonomy.
