A 12 month maternity cover Veterinary Surgeon role with a 40 hour week, a set day off each week and a 1:5 Saturday and Sunday rota. The position is based at a well established small animal hospital with strong clinical support and advanced facilities.
This Veterinary Surgeon position is based with the Shedfield team at Animed Veterinary Hospital, on a 12 month fixed term maternity cover contract with the possibility of becoming permanent or extending. The role is full time, 40 hours per week, worked as 4 x 10 hour days with a set day off each week. You will also take part in a weekend rota of 1:5 Saturday and Sunday.

It is a small animal hospital environment with a varied caseload, a supportive multidisciplinary team and room to keep developing your clinical confidence and autonomy.
The hospital also has specific provision for exotic pets, and the wider team includes experienced colleagues across day and night cover, with certificate holders in several disciplines to support case discussion and mentoring.
Animed Veterinary Hospital is a small animal practice within CVS and is described as a well established hospital. The team includes vets, nurses, PCAs and receptionists, with 16 day vets and 3 night vets, plus certificate holders in Diagnostic Imaging, Cardiology, Medicine, Endoscopy and Endo surgery.
The hospital has a dedicated orthopaedic theatre, two fully equipped soft tissue theatres with laparoscopic equipment, a double dental suite, a dedicated imaging suite, visiting CT and separate wards for dogs, cats and exotic pets. The wider support team includes 34 clinical staff, 18 reception staff and 5 admin staff.
