About the Role

Dragon Vets is recruiting an experienced small animal Veterinary Surgeon for a permanent role based in Cheltenham. You will work two days each week at the main hospital and two days at the supporting branches, with some sole charge at branch level.

This is a role for someone who enjoys varied clinical work and wants to keep building their skills within a supportive team. The practice handles a broad and rewarding caseload, including more complex surgery and medical cases, and has the facilities and in house support to back that up.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high quality patient and client care across a varied small animal caseload
• Work collaboratively with the wider practice team across the hospital and branch sites
• Carry out clinical work across routine medical and surgical cases, with scope to develop further
• Contribute to the clinical culture of the practice and share knowledge with colleagues
• Handle some sole charge responsibilities at the branches

Requirements

• RCVS registration, or eligibility to register
• Experience in clinical practice
• Growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A proactive approach to learning and development
• Professionalism, reliability, and a passion for excellent patient and client care

About the Practice

Dragon Vets is an established small animal practice in Cheltenham and is part of inspiring vet care. The team includes 16 vets, with certificate holders and advanced practitioner status in small animal surgery, cardiology, and medicine.

The practice is equipped with CT, DR, rigid and flexible endoscopy, high end Doppler ultrasonography, laparoscopic kits, and TPLO kits. It also has separate cat and dog wards, and Vets Now provides dedicated out of hours cover from the same building.
