About the Role
You'll be joining Eastcott Veterinary Hospital as a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, working a comfortable 4-day week (40 hours) with a 1 in 8 weekend rota and 2 days in lieu the following week. Minimal on-call shifts are required as the hospital has a dedicated ECC team on site.
This is a permanent full-time role (open to part-time applicants) based primarily at the main hospital in Swindon, with rotations through consulting-only branch locations. You'll work alongside a supportive team of 13 vets in a multi-disciplinary environment that values collaboration and clinical development. Beyond clinical work, you'll have scope to get involved with mentoring recent graduates, joining the Green Team, or helping organise social events.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver primary care services including routine consultations, surgery, and medicine for small animals
- Contribute to a collaborative 13-vet team with strong case discussion culture
- Support the hospital's 24-hour emergency and routine care operations
- Rotate through consulting-only branch locations alongside main hospital shifts
- Maintain confident, evidence-based practice across all general practice areas
- Engage with continuing professional development and clinical mentoring opportunities
Requirements
- Qualified Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS registered)
- Confident across all GP areas including surgery and medicine
- Excellent communication skills and strong team ethos
- Can-do attitude, determination, and positivity
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
