About the Role

This is a full-time position working a four-day week (36 hours), with time off in lieu for a 1:6 Saturday morning rota. You’ll be joining Eastgate Vets’ Thetford branch, a three-vet, four-RVN practice that’s part of the larger Eastgate Veterinary Group serving Suffolk and Norfolk. The practice is genuinely open to part-time and flexible working arrangements for the right candidate, and can even accommodate consult-only work if that suits you better.

Located in Thetford, you’re in the heart of the region’s hidden gems, with Cambridge just 30 minutes away and Norwich nearby. The region blends rural heritage with vibrant culture—think ancient villages, diverse landscapes and a thriving arts scene. London is a straightforward 80-mile drive if you fancy city access.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality small animal veterinary care alongside two other vets and four RVNs
• Contribute to the practice’s culture of shared knowledge and skill development
• Participate in a 1:6 Saturday morning rota (with time off in lieu)
• Support and mentor the proactive support team
• Engage with professional development opportunities and accredited learning certificates

Requirements

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS registered)
• Experienced background (evidence of professional competence and collaborative approach)
• Strong communication and teamworking skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development

About the Practice

Eastgate Veterinary Group operates three RCVS-accredited small animal practices across Suffolk and Norfolk: Bury St Edmunds (four vets, five RVNs), Mildenhall and Thetford (three vets and four RVNs each).
