About the Role

The Local Field Technical Veterinary position bridges science and commercial success by translating technical knowledge into practical marketing support for sales teams. Based in York, this role demands significant field presence (at least 40% of your time) working directly with customers and sales colleagues to ensure product messaging aligns with both regulatory requirements and local market needs.

You'll combine technical customer service, training delivery, and scientific communication, adapting global strategies to local veterinary contexts. This is a full-time permanent role offering the opportunity to work across multiple areas of pharmaceutical marketing and product support in the companion animal sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical customer service and respond to product enquiries with efficient, knowledgeable, and compliant support
• Adapt global technical-marketing strategies to local market needs while maintaining alignment with business objectives
• Prepare for, deliver, and support marketing campaigns from conception through post-launch phase
• Report and document customer cases for pharmacovigilance, ensuring regulatory compliance
• Register and track technical enquiries in the CRM system to generate insights for continuous improvement
• Develop and oversee scientific communication strategy for the local portfolio in line with Good Veterinary Practice principles
• Ensure local marketing materials accurately reflect scientific data and regulatory requirements
• Tailor technical messaging to address local veterinary needs and practice priorities
• Collaborate actively in developing and implementing local marketing and sales strategies
• Support the design and coordination of post-marketing studies and market research projects
• Conduct regular training sessions for sales teams, customer service staff, distributors, and key veterinary clients
• Spend significant time in the field supporting commercial teams during customer interactions
• Deliver educational programmes for veterinarians and industry professionals
• Provide technical support at congresses and exhibitions
• Design and develop technical content for training materials, brochures, presentations, and key opinion leader engagement
• Develop and manage relationships with local key opinion leaders
• Monitor new scientific publications and competitor activity to keep marketing strategies current
• Provide local market insights on customer needs and industry developments
• Align local technical strategies with evolving regulatory standards
• Ensure accurate scientific and technical reporting in publications, abstracts, and corporate launches
• Work actively with cross-functional teams including quality and regulatory affairs to incorporate market insights into decision-making

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Veterinary Medicine
• 3 to 6 years of experience in technical marketing or veterinary scientific communication
