Part-Time Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

This part-time Veterinary Receptionist position is based in Mile End, in a vibrant and well-connected part of Tower Hamlets. The role is set at 20 hours per week, with Monday to Friday shifts available from 8:45am to 12:45pm or 9:00am to 1:00pm, making it a strong fit for someone looking for school-hour working.

You’ll be the first point of contact for clients, helping to create a warm, professional welcome while keeping the front desk running smoothly. The role involves working closely with the clinical team so pets and owners receive a well-organised experience from arrival through to departure.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome clients in person, over the phone and by email, providing friendly and professional service.
• Book appointments and referrals, making sure clients have the information they need.
• Keep clients updated about appointment delays and support promotion of nurse clinics where appropriate.
• Process payments, insurance claims and client records accurately.
• Manage food orders and general reception administration.
• Assist with basic financial administration, including cash handling and banking when required.
• Keep the reception area clean and tidy.

Requirements

• Previous reception experience within a veterinary or healthcare environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organisational ability.
• A friendly, professional approach.
• Confidence working in a busy environment.
• A genuine love of animals of all shapes and sizes.
