Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This part-time RVN position is based in Chingford and averages 16 hours across 2 days per week. There are no on-call requirements, so once your shift finishes, your time is your own.

You will be part of a friendly first opinion GP branch where autonomy matters. The role suits someone who enjoys taking the lead alongside the vet, supporting clients and helping the practice feel like a welcoming community hub.

The branch also benefits from support from nearby Wanstead Veterinary Hospital, with access to experienced clinicians, out-of-hours care and referral services when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Run nurse consultations and provide evidence-based patient care.
• Support surgical procedures and diagnostic work within your scope of practice.
• Dispense and manage medications in line with current legislation and RCVS guidance.
• Keep accurate and detailed clinical records.
• Refer cases appropriately to the hospital teams when required.
• Work collaboratively with the veterinary surgeon to help the practice run efficiently.
• Support and mentor colleagues where appropriate.
• Help maintain clinical standards and follow practice protocols.

Requirements

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Comfortable taking the lead alongside the vet in a branch setting.
• Happy to work autonomously and handle occasional curveballs.
• Open to supporting and mentoring others where appropriate.

• Salary of £12,800 to £14,400 pro rata, based on a 16-hour week, with an FTE equivalent of £32,000 to £36,000 depending on experience.
