About the Role

The Wembley clinic has been established for several decades with a loyal and growing client base. Following the arrival of an experienced senior vet, the practice is expanding and now needs an additional RVN to support the increased workload. This is a genuine part-time opportunity—2 days per week (Mondays and Tuesdays, 8-hour shifts)—with a 1:3 Saturday rota shared between Wembley and Harrow, plus 1:10 Sundays working alongside the Mandeville Hospital team. There are no on-call requirements. If you're interested in exploring full-time options in the region, the practice is open to that conversation too. You'll join an incredibly experienced and supportive team. Triona (senior vet) brings clinical excellence, Jacky (part-time RVN) offers 38 years of practice knowledge, Robert (VCA) has worked at the clinic for many years, and an additional training VCA will support you every step of the way. This role is particularly well-suited to newly qualified RVNs who thrive with hands-on mentoring from experienced colleagues. Located in Wembley with excellent transport links—Preston Road station (Metropolitan line) is just a 4-minute walk away, with North Wembley (Bakerloo) and Wembley Park (Jubilee) both within 20 minutes. There's ample off-street parking if you drive. The area offers green spaces like Kew and Richmond Park within easy reach.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care and support continuous improvement in clinical standards
• Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and consultations as required
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records for hospitalised patients
• Ensure high standards of comfort and welfare for all animals in the practice's care
• Clean, pack, sterilise, and correctly store equipment when not in use
• Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets, and consumables; place orders with suppliers as needed
• Provide reception duties as required, handling clients and pets professionally in person, by email, and by telephone
• Support and supervise student nurses and VCAs as a clinical supervisor
• Assist with induction and training of new staff members
• Foster a respectful and collaborative team environment

Requirements

• Current RVN registration (or equivalent)
• Experience in small animal practice (newly qualified nurses will be considered with appropriate support)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Commitment to high clinical and welfare standards

• Salary: £32,000–£36,000 FTE (pro rata'd to part-time hours based on experience)

The Wembley clinic is part of Goddard Veterinary Group, established in 1952 and now operating 44 neighbourhood practices across London, three 24-hour hospitals, and its own nursing college. The clinic itself features 2 consult rooms, a theatre, a large separate prep room, digital and dental X-ray facilities, and ultrasound equipment. There's also a large back garden—perfect for lunch breaks when the weather allows.
