Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

You’ll be the first point of contact for clients at Grove Lodge Veterinary Group, a bustling small animal practice with 17 vets and 26 nurses across seven locations in the Brighton and Worthing area. This is a full-time permanent role working Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday mornings (8:30am–12:00pm), based primarily at the Worthing hospital but with flexibility to cover other branches as needed. If you drive, you’ll have the chance to work across all their sites in Brighton, Portslade, Southwick, Lancing, Broadwater, Tarring, and Durrington.

Working 5 × 9-hour days (1 hour unpaid lunch), you’ll manage a fast-paced reception environment where no two days are the same. From booking appointments and handling enquiries via phone, email, or face-to-face, to maintaining client records and processing payments, you’ll play a vital role in delivering the excellent service Grove Lodge is known for.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage appointment bookings and client enquiries across multiple communication channels (phone, email, in-person)
• Maintain accurate client records and process payments
• Provide a warm, professional welcome to clients and their pets
• Work flexibly across all seven practice sites when coverage is needed
• Support the wider team in delivering outstanding customer service

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills and a professional, welcoming manner
• Customer-facing experience with a strong focus on service and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment
• A collaborative, team-focused approach with willingness to support colleagues
• Proactive attitude and openness to feedback and learning
• A valid driving licence (essential for flexibility across sites)
