This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours Monday to Friday, plus a 1-in-5 Saturday morning rota. The practice welcomes applications for part-time and flexible working arrangements. You'll deliver a mix of consultations and surgical cases in a recently extended and upgraded practice, supported by an outstanding nursing team. Holmefield is a long-established, 100% small animal practice with two sites: a well-equipped main practice in the picturesque village of Brayton, and a community-focused branch in Sherburn-in-Elmet. Both locations are in beautiful semi-rural North Yorkshire with excellent transport links. Brayton village offers a charming atmosphere with local amenities, and York is just 20 minutes away. You'll work in bright, spacious premises with separate species wards, cat-friendly accreditation, and a dedicated bereavement room.
Holmefield Veterinary Centre is a long-established, 100% small animal practice with a team of 26 experienced vets, qualified and trainee nurses, and reception and administration staff. The practice is committed to being the best local small animal veterinary provider, offering professional care, complete diagnostics, treatment, and preventative health advice across all life stages. Emergency treatment is available within their own clinics 24/7, 365 days a year.
The main site in Brayton is well-equipped with digital x-ray, new ultrasound for abdominal and cardiac scans, K-laser, multiparameter monitoring, and Doppler blood pressure. The practice has separate species wards, cat-friendly accreditation, and a dedicated bereavement room. The team includes vets and nurses with specialist interests and qualifications, including a vet pursuing a Feline Medicine certificate and nurses with ECC credentials. Staff wellbeing is a priority, with support resources and a social team culture including regular social events.
