A four-day week, no out-of-hours or bank holiday commitments, and a varied small animal caseload make this a strong option for vets who value balance as much as clinical variety. Charter Vets is also offering either a permanent role or a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
This is a full-time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon role with Charter Vets, based mainly at the Congleton branch. For a permanent position, you'll also work across the Congleton and Newcastle-under-Lyme branches. The role combines consultations and surgery, giving you a varied caseload in a practice that places real emphasis on collaboration and support.
The working pattern is a four-day week, with practice opening hours from 8:30am to 6:30pm. Saturday mornings are on a 2:11 rota, shared across local practices, from 9:00am to 1:00pm. There are no out-of-hours or bank holiday commitments.
You can join on a permanent basis or in a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
Charter Vets is part of the VetPartners family and the advert describes it as a practice with a friendly, experienced team and a close-knit culture. The role sits within the Congleton branch, with the option to work across the wider local branch network for permanent appointments.
The practice team includes experienced Small Animal Vets, Registered Veterinary Nurses, auxiliary nurses, and reception colleagues. The advert also notes access to a wider Charter pod of practices, plus an in-house referral hospital and dedicated out-of-hours support team.
