About the Role

Join Iffley Vets as a permanent small animal veterinary surgeon in Oxford. This is a daytime-only role offering a 4-day week as standard, giving you genuine work-life balance alongside a thriving small animal caseload. You'll work alongside an experienced vet team, nursing staff, and supportive management with over 80 years of combined practice experience.

The practice is in an excellent location for both city living and easy access to the Oxfordshire countryside. There's dedicated parking behind the practice, and a strong culture of professional development. If you're interested in hospital work, Iffley Vets is opening a new 24-hour facility in 2026 with advanced equipment including Karl Storz tower, full orthopaedic theatre, advanced imaging, laser therapy, and dental X-ray facilities. Staff are actively encouraged to develop interests in areas such as soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, internal medicine, ultrasound, ophthalmology, and dermatology.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care for small animal patients (dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small pets)
• Work as part of a multi-site small animal practice with a supportive vet and nursing team
• Engage in ongoing professional development with mentoring from experienced senior management
• Contribute to the practice's commitment to high standards of veterinary care

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a veterinary surgeon
• Experience in small animal practice (level not specified but team is experienced and supports progression)
