Ready to lead an ECC team where your clinical excellence and mentorship actually shape the future? This Head Vet role in Bath offers genuine leadership impact, protected study time, and a 1:2 weekend rota that respects your life outside work.
1:2 weekend rota (mix of nights and days); weeknight shifts included; no more than three consecutive nights; protected time for leadership duties
This is a genuine clinical leadership opportunity at Vets Now's Bath emergency clinic. As Senior Veterinary Surgeon, you'll lead by example, blending hands-on clinical expertise with mentorship of a collaborative team. You'll work full-time averaging 40 hours per week across approximately 3 shifts per week, including weeknights and a 1:2 weekend rota (mix of night and day shifts), with no more than three consecutive nights. Protected time is built in for leadership duties and meetings, and part-time arrangements can be explored depending on clinic needs.
This role goes beyond clinical practice. You'll set the tone for quality emergency care, lead in high-pressure situations, and actively shape the development of your fellow clinicians. It's ECC work that matters, with a team that shares your purpose.
Vets Now is a nationwide emergency and critical care provider with a dedicated clinic in Bath. The practice operates a collaborative model where you'll work alongside registered vet nurses, animal care assistants, and receptionists on every shift. The Bath team is part of a larger UK network, so clinical support and idea-sharing with colleagues across multiple sites is built into the culture.
Vets Now is supported by a professional Support Office in Dunfermline, where customer care teams handle client communication, allowing clinical staff to focus entirely on patient care. The organisation emphasises flexibility, ongoing development, and recognition that passionate vets deserve a team that shares their purpose.
