About the Role
Inshes Veterinary Centre is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their busy first-opinion small animal practice in Inverness. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours across five days, Monday to Friday—no out-of-hours commitments. You'll be based in the heart of the Highlands, ideally situated for outdoor pursuits and within easy reach of the Cairngorm National Park and northern Scotland's stunning landscapes.
You'll work alongside a strong clinical team consisting of 7 full-time and 2 part-time vets, 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, and a Veterinary Care Assistant, all supported by a comprehensive admin team. The practice operates two theatres and a prep room equipped with modern, safe anaesthetics. This is a collaborative environment where qualified nurses monitor all major operations, and there's a clear emphasis on high clinical standards combined with compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to first-opinion patients and support excellent client experiences
Manage in-patient care across the practice
Assist in theatre, dental, and diagnostic procedures
Perform anaesthetic monitoring and Schedule 3 procedures
Conduct nurse consultations and take clinical responsibility for a range of cases
Assist with laparoscopic procedures and laboratory work
Support and mentor Student Veterinary Nurses through their training
Contribute to clinical standards and ongoing development of patient care within the practice
Requirements
Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
Team-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for delivering high standards of care

Salary: up to £30,000 per annum depending on experience
