About the Role
This full-time, permanent Ambulatory Veterinary Care Assistant role is based at Sussex Equine Hospital and works 40 hours per week across various shifts. The post is designed to support the ambulatory vet with day to day work, helping to keep calls, vehicle stock and clinical tasks running smoothly.
You will be working with horses in rural Sussex, with the seaside about 20 miles away and good train links to London, Brighton and Worthing. The role also sits within a wider team of Vets, Nurses and Grooms, with lab and pharmacy provision and a strong administrative team behind you.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and clean veterinary equipment, then store it safely after use
- Restrain horses during veterinary procedures
- Lunge and trot horses up
- Keep the vehicle clean, tidy and stocked
- Drive to calls and complete occasional drug drop offs
- Hold radiography plates
- Prepare limbs for intra-articular medication
- Clip and prep legs for tendon scans
- Assist with recording invoices relating to dispensed drugs
- Answer the telephone and take messages
Requirements
