Equine Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This equine Veterinary Surgeon role is based with Wright and Morten Equine Vets in Cheshire, as part of inspiring vet care. The practice is seeking someone with a minimum of 1 year’s experience, and part-time applications are considered from 3 days a week, although full-time is preferred.

You’ll be working across a varied caseload that includes ambulatory and clinic-based work. The rota includes out of hours on a 1 in 5 basis, and the practice says remote support is always available, with structured help and training if needed.

The team places real value on fit, collaboration and support. Clinical freedom is backed by the clinic team and ambulatory team, with certificate holders in Equine Orthopaedics, Equine Dentistry and Equine Lameness available for support.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle a mixed equine caseload across ambulatory and clinic-based services
• Take part in the OOH rota on a 1 in 5 basis
• Manage routine work and ambulatory emergencies with remote support available
• Work collaboratively with the clinic team and the ambulatory team
• Contribute to case work-up with support from certificate holders where needed

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience
• A Veterinary degree and RCVS registration, or eligibility to register
• Confidence with routine and ambulatory emergency work
• Strong communication skills
• A proactive approach to learning and development
• Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
