Practice Manager

About the Role

Hook Vets is looking for an enthusiastic and confident Practice Manager to join the team in a clinic-based role. This is a senior operational position where you'll support both the business side of the practice and the delivery of excellent client and patient care.

The role is full time, Monday to Friday. Hook Vets has expanded over the last two years and has plans for the future, with a location in a small town in Hampshire that offers excellent road and rail links, including quick access to the M3 and Hook station.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the non-clinical running of the practice, working closely with clinical leadership.
• Support day-to-day operational delivery, people management and compliance.
• Help create a positive culture and strong team performance.
• Oversee HR tasks including payroll, recruitment, staff development and absence management.
• Manage debt recovery processes and handle client complaints professionally.
• Support safety compliance, protocols and risk assessments.

Requirements

• Experience in a management role, ideally within healthcare, veterinary or service-led environments.
• Strong people management skills, including performance management and team development.
• Good operational and organisational ability.
• Confidence in handling complaints, change and complex situations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
