About the Role

This Registered Veterinary Nurse role at PDSA Glasgow offers a genuinely varied hospital environment where no two days are the same. You will be involved in nurse consultations, inpatient care, dispensing medications and theatre work, including Schedule 3 surgery, while helping keep pets calm and owners informed.

The role sits within a purpose-led charity that provides veterinary care for pets whose owners are in financial hardship. You will be part of a friendly, close-knit team, supporting others, sharing your skills and leading by example in a busy hospital setting.

The rota is built with work life balance in mind, with full-time or part-time hours considered. Shifts are 7.5 hours between 8:30am and 6:00pm, with structured start and finish times, regular protected breaks, 1 in 8 weekends with time off in lieu or stand-down and pay uplift, plus bank holidays covered on a rota.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care across a wide variety of cases seen at PDSA Glasgow.
• Carry out nurse consultations, inpatient care, dispensing and theatre duties.
• Assist in theatre, including Schedule 3 surgery.
• Keep pets calm and owners informed throughout their visit or stay.
• Support colleagues across the hospital and contribute to a smooth-running team.
• Promote client contributions and help identify practical efficiencies in how resources are used.

Requirements

• Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Confident communicating with a wide range of colleagues and clients.
• Comfortable working in a busy, purpose-led environment.
• Willing to adapt to a broad and varied caseload.
• Enjoys supporting others and leading by example.
