Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

Join inspiring vet care as a Registered Veterinary Nurse working within Zetland Vets across Zetland Road, Stoke Bishop and Fishponds. The role is predominantly consult-based, while still keeping you involved in inpatient care, diagnostics, anaesthesia and surgical support.

You’ll be part of a small, friendly and close-knit team, with the chance to use and develop your nursing skills across practices that include operating theatre facilities, dental X-ray and an in-house laboratory. Both a full-time permanent position and a full-time 12 month fixed-term position are available.

The working pattern is 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, with shifts between 8:00am and 8:30pm. The role is based at Fishponds, with 8 Saturdays per year from 8:30am to 5:00pm, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Key Responsibilities

• Run nurse clinics and deliver strong client care
• Provide inpatient nursing care to a high standard
• Support laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
• Monitor anaesthesia and assist with surgical procedures
• Work closely with Veterinary Surgeons and the wider clinical team
• Help maintain patient welfare, clinical hygiene and infection control
• Contribute to the smooth running of the practice across the different sites

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
• Clinical practice experience with confidence across core medical and surgical nursing responsibilities
• Experience working sole charge when required
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and effective workload management
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement
• The ability to travel between Zetland Road, Stoke Bishop and Fishponds
