No weekends or out-of-hours shifts.
At Summerwood Vets, this Veterinary Surgeon role is built around quality clinical work, flexibility, and ongoing development. You’ll be part of a friendly, close-knit small animal team, with colleagues who are working toward or already hold certificates in areas including Feline Medicine, Anaesthesia, Dentistry, and ECC.
The role offers full or part-time hours with no weekends or out-of-hours shifts. Full-time hours are typically 8:30am to 6:30pm across four days, although five shorter days can be discussed. Part-time options cover 1 to 3 days a week, with fixed days or a rota that fits around your needs.
The practice itself is modern and spacious, with four consult rooms, separate cat and dog areas, a new cattery, a theatre, and advanced equipment including laparoscopy, ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray, and an in-house lab.
The role sits within inspiring vet care, described as the UK’s number one vet care provider and trusted with the care of over 2 million animals. The practice culture is values-led, with an emphasis on care, community, and continuous improvement.
Summerwood Vets is presented as a modern, spacious small animal practice with advanced facilities and a team that includes vets developing specialist interests and certificates. The organisation also offers access to wider clinical support through mentors, regional clinical coaches, and peer networks.
