Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

Alder Veterinary Practice is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join its small animal team in Spalding. The role is based across two established surgeries in Spalding and Bourne, serving loyal client bases that have been built over more than 20 years.

You will be working with a varied first opinion caseload and a team that values collaborative, thoughtful care. The practice also sits within easy reach of Stamford, Burghley House, the Burghley Horse Trials and Rutland Water, with Peterborough around half an hour away and direct train links to London.

The team places importance on taking time with clients, discussing all available care options and working closely with referral practices and neighbouring practices when cases need extra input.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver first opinion small animal care across a varied caseload.
• Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to support patient and client care.
• Talk clients through available treatment options so they can make informed decisions.
• Share clinical knowledge and contribute to discussions on cases with the wider veterinary community when appropriate.
• Support the ongoing development of colleagues through a positive clinical approach.

Requirements

• A veterinary degree.
• RCVS registration, or eligibility to register.
• Experience in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases.
• Strong communication skills.
• Professionalism, reliability and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive approach to learning and development.
• A commitment to high quality patient and client care.
