About the Role
This is a Lead Veterinary Surgeon position at Easipetcare Kettering, where you'll take the most senior clinical role in the practice. The post is full-time, with 40 hours across 4 days, plus a shared Saturday rota of 1 in 3 from 09:00 to 12:00 with time back in lieu.
There are no out-of-hours or on-call duties in this role. You’ll be helping lead clinical standards, support governance, oversee complex cases, and work closely with the senior practice leadership team to drive quality and improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the most senior veterinary clinician in the practice
- Lead clinical standards, governance, and patient and client care
- Provide clinical leadership and decision-making for the veterinary team
- Oversee complex cases and support clinical guidance within the practice
- Work with the senior practice leadership team on strategic direction and continuous improvement
- Mentor colleagues and help shape clinical standards
- Contribute to clinical growth while maintaining high levels of patient care
Requirements
- Veterinary degree and RCVS registration
- Significant experience in small or mixed animal practice
- Advanced surgical and medical capability
- Proven experience mentoring, coaching, and supporting veterinary colleagues
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Experience with clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement is required
- Ability to manage clinical complaints and provide professional guidance in complex situations

About the Practice
Easipetcare Kettering is part of the Inspire Vet Care network and the wider IVC Evidensia Group. The practice team includes 1 Clinical Director, 2 vets, 5 RVNs and 1 SVN.
The practice is equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter monitors, and a new dental X-ray is on the way. It treats dogs, cats and small pets, and is rabbit friendly. The site is located on a busy Kettering retail park in the heart of town, with free parking, strong footfall, excellent transport links, and access to the Northamptonshire countryside.
