Weekend Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This Weekend Veterinary Nurse role is based in Vets Now Macclesfield and focuses on emergency and critical care work across a 1:4 weekend rota. You will work Saturdays from 12:00 to 19:00 and Sundays from 08:00 to 19:00, with a fair share of bank holidays included.

The position is designed for nurses who want to grow their ECC knowledge while balancing other commitments. The team’s nursing work sits at the heart of clinical treatment, including triage, surgery, anaesthesia and inpatient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Give first aid advice over the phone and provide first aid in clinic.
• Support critical care through monitoring major body systems and tracking inpatient trends.
• Spot changes in patients quickly and escalate when needed.
• Carry out physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound care and dressing care.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Requirements

• RCVS registration with a minimum of six months.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
• Motivation to maintain high clinic standards.
• A genuine interest in caring for clients and their pets.
