Multidisciplinary Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This fixed-term multidisciplinary nursing position offers the chance to work across a diverse range of specialist disciplines in a world-class referral environment. You'll join Blaise Veterinary Referral Hospital in Longbridge, Birmingham, one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary referral hospitals, treating up to 10,000 pets annually. With a 40-hour, 4-day working week and 1:6 weekend rota, you'll have a variable day off each week, making for a sustainable work schedule even in a fast-paced setting.

You'll rotate through wards, surgery, anaesthesia, emergency and critical care (including ICU), internal medicine with oncology and cardiology subspecialties, imaging (CT and MRI), neurology, and the on-site Vets Now emergency service. This role is perfect for an experienced RVN who thrives on complexity and wants to develop deep expertise across multiple specialisms.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced nursing care to complex cases across anaesthesia, cardiology, diagnostic imaging, ECC, internal medicine, interventional radiology, neurology, oncology, orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery
• Support clinical decision-making within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to evidence-based practice
• Rotate through specialist departments including wards, surgery, theatre, imaging, and the dedicated 24-hour Vets Now emergency service
• Share knowledge and experience with colleagues to improve patient outcomes and service delivery
• Maintain high standards of nursing care and clinical governance in a referral hospital setting

Requirements

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Significant clinical experience with strong medical and surgical nursing skills
• Proven experience working with complex cases in a referral or advanced-care environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and continuous improvement
