Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

You will be joining Seafield Vets on a full-time permanent basis as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. The role is based at the Banff branch, with the wider group also serving Keith and Buckie, and the practice offers a strong small animal caseload with scope to gain exposure to farm or equine cases if desired.

This is a hands-on nursing position where you will support a varied first opinion caseload, work closely with veterinary surgeons, and contribute to nurse consults, clinics, inpatient care, diagnostics, and Schedule 3 activities where appropriate. The rota is 38 hours per week over 4 days, with a 1 in 4 weekend rota and no OOH responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to patients across routine, emergency, and surgical cases.
• Support veterinary surgeons with procedures, inpatient care, diagnostics, and Schedule 3 activities where appropriate.
• Run nurse consultations and clinics, including preventative healthcare advice for clients.
• Work collaboratively with the wider clinical team across the practice.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of nursing services and clinical standards.

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse.
• Experience in clinical practice.
• Growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Good organisational skills and an effective approach to managing workload.
• A proactive attitude toward learning, reflection, and continuous improvement.

About the Practice

Seafield Vet Group has three branches, Keith, Banff, and Buckie. The Banff and Buckie branches see a small animal caseload, while the main Keith site is a mixed practice covering small animal, farm, and equine work.

The group has a comprehensive range of diagnostic and surgical tools, including a full Idexx lab suite and a new and updated ultrasound, supporting case workups in house to a high standard. Seafield Vets is part of IVC Evidensia.
