Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

Join Knockanboy Vets as a Registered Veterinary Nurse on a full-time basis, working across the Dervock and Coleraine practices. This is a varied role within a supportive primary care setting, with a rota that includes Monday to Friday working, plus weekend and on-call duties.

You will be part of a team that includes 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Veterinary Nurses and 1 Student Veterinary Nurse. The practice also works closely with a local university and regularly welcomes student nurses on placement, so there is a real opportunity to support the development of future nurses while building your own experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for a range of first opinion cases.
• Run nurse consults and support client care.
• Assist in theatre, including anaesthetic monitoring.
• Support vets with consults, imaging and lab work.
• Provide inpatient care.
• Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to support clinical standards and patient care.

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse.
• Experience in clinical practice.
• Growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement.
• Confidence and motivation to work well as part of a team.
