Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This part-time position offers 24 hours per week across Monday, Thursday, and Friday (shifts 8:30am to 5:00pm or 10:30am to 7:00pm), plus one in five Saturday mornings with time off in lieu. You'll be an integral member of the clinical team at Bray House Vets, a well-established small animal practice serving Melton Mowbray and Grantham with a loyal client base and strong reputation for high-quality care. The practice occasionally requires flexibility to cover the Grantham branch during holidays or for Saturday rota commitments.

You'll work collaboratively with 5 veterinary surgeons and 6 nurses in a modern clinic equipped with dental machines, ultrasound scanners, digital x-ray, and multiparameter monitoring. The role combines clinical nursing, theatre work, inpatient care, and some reception duties in a supportive primary care environment focused on continuous improvement and patient care standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct nurse clinics and provide high-quality nursing care across first opinion cases
• Perform theatre work and anaesthesia monitoring
• Manage inpatient care and Schedule 3 tasks including scale and polishes, suture removal, and blood sampling
• Support the wider practice team with reception duties as required
• Contribute to clinical standards and ongoing development of patient care within the practice

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
