Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This is a part-time opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse at Mansion Hill Vets, a welcoming village-based practice in Middleton Cheney. You'll work 23.5 hours per week across Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (9am to 5pm) plus one Saturday in four mornings (8am to 12pm), with no out-of-hours commitments. The practice handles a varied caseload including consultations, surgery, dentistry with a visiting specialist, and client-facing support.

You'll be part of a tight-knit clinical team of two veterinary surgeons, three registered nurses (including a senior nurse), one animal care assistant, and two receptionists. This is an environment where you can deliver high-quality first opinion nursing care, build positive client relationships, and develop your skills in a supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform minor surgeries and provide post-operative nursing care
• Assist in theatre and monitor patients under anaesthesia
• Triage emergency cases and respond to urgent clinical needs
• Dispense medications and manage pharmacy responsibilities
• Support owners with advice on animal care and welfare
• Contribute to maintaining clinical standards across the practice
• Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and wider team to advance patient care

Requirements

• Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and effective workload management
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous professional improvement
