About the Role
This part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse role is based with South Devon Vets, working 24 hours per week across 3 or 4 days. Shifts run between 8:00am and 6:30pm, with 1 in 8 Saturday mornings from 8:00am to 12:00pm.
You will be part of a small animal setting where nursing support covers surgical, medical and nurse clinic work, alongside inpatient care. The group has three practices in the Newton Abbot area of South Devon, and the Kingsteignton practice is described as friendly, well established and at the heart of the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for first opinion cases as part of the clinical team.
- Work with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team.
- Support surgical, medical and nurse clinic duties.
- Deliver inpatient care.
- Contribute to clinical standards and the ongoing development of patient care.
Requirements
- RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse.
- At least 2 years of RVN experience.
- Experience in clinical practice.
- Growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
- A proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement.

Kingsteignton Veterinary Group, Kingsteignton is a friendly, well-established practice at the heart of the local community. It is part of South Devon Vets, with three practices based in the Newton Abbot area of South Devon.
The practice highlights include in-house lab facilities, CT, ultrasound and digital X-ray, plus advanced diagnostics such as endoscopy and dental X-ray. It also offers Diplomate-led Ophthalmology and Orthopaedics, along with CT and laparoscopic spays.
