Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

Fair City Vets is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their Perth practice on a full-time basis. This is a four-day working week role (40 hours spread across Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 7:00pm) with Saturday morning cover on a 1:4 rota, but absolutely no overnight or out-of-hours on-call duties. It's a rare find in primary care: genuine work-life balance without compromising clinical variety.

You'll be part of a close-knit clinical team of three vets and two RVNs, supporting a fantastic reception team across three well-established sites in Crieff, Perth, and Auchterarder. The practice punches above its weight with advanced facilities including laparoscopy, ultrasonography, dental radiography (IM3 system), in-house lab testing, radiography, and laser therapy. This is a place where nursing excellence is valued and specialisation is actively encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care across a wide range of small animal cases, from first opinion to complex presentations
• Provide surgical support and assist with clinical procedures including pre-operative and post-operative patient care
• Manage nurse consultations and appointments, building client relationships and delivering preventative healthcare advice
• Contribute to clinical standards and the ongoing development of patient care protocols within the practice
• Mentor and support junior nursing staff and student nurses in their clinical development
• Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider team to ensure excellent patient outcomes and a positive practice environment

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
• Team-oriented mindset with commitment to high standards of care
