Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse role at Vets Now Bradford is built around emergency pet care, with nursing duties covering triage, surgery, anaesthesia and in-patient care. The clinic is RCVS accredited as a Small Animal Emergency Service Clinic, so you'll be supporting emergency and critical care cases that arrive without an appointment.

The rota is set across two weeks: Week 1 runs Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday from 18:00 to 00:00, and Week 2 runs Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 18:00 to 00:00, plus a fair share of bank holidays. You'll also have the chance to build on your ECC knowledge, with support toward professional qualifications including the ECC certificate.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid advice over the phone and in clinic.
• Support critical care nursing, including monitoring major body systems and in-patient trends.
• Spot changes quickly in hospitalised patients and respond appropriately.
• Carry out physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound care and dressing care.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for clients and their pets.
