Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

White Cross Vets St Helens is looking for a confident Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their clinical team on a full-time basis. This is a daytime-only role with Monday to Friday core hours plus a manageable 1:4 Saturday morning rota, giving you genuine work-life balance without overnight on-call commitments.

You'll be working alongside 8 experienced veterinary surgeons, many of whom hold advanced certificates in medicine, surgery, imaging, and ophthalmology. The nursing team is equally accomplished, with expertise spanning anaesthesia, behaviour, surgery, and consulting. This is a progressive practice that actively supports clinical development and certificate pathways, so whether you're consolidating your skills or planning your next step, there's genuine opportunity here.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care across the full range of first opinion cases
• Assist with surgical procedures and inpatient care
• Conduct nurse clinics and diagnostic work
• Support the wider clinical team in maintaining high standards of patient care and client communication
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of clinical protocols

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and effective time management
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
