About the Role

This full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse position offers the chance to work in a progressive, supportive small animal environment where your clinical development genuinely matters. Based at Clockhouse Veterinary Hospital in Stroud, you'll be part of a team committed to continuous learning and high clinical standards. The role is structured around a 40-hour, five-day working week with a mix of early and late shifts, plus a 1-in-5 Saturday rota (8:00am to 2:00pm with time off in lieu). Best of all, there are no out-of-hours requirements, making this role ideal if you value work-life balance.

The practice is comprehensively equipped with an operating theatre, dedicated dental theatre, X-ray and dental X-ray facilities, portable ultrasound, and a newly installed scavenging system. Separate dog and cat wards, an isolation kennel, and a dedicated cat reception area ensure you'll be working in a thoughtfully designed clinical environment.

You'll have scope to develop specific nursing interests through the company's dedicated Nurse Academy and clear career progression into senior, referral, leadership, or mentoring roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care across a varied first opinion small animal caseload
• Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
• Run nurse clinics, contributing to preventative healthcare and client education
• Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
• Work collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons and the wider practice team to maintain clinical standards
• Contribute to the ongoing development of patient care within the practice

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
• Team-orientated, confident, and motivated approach to clinical work
