About the Role

This is a full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse position at Oval Pet Centre, a busy, well-established first-opinion small animal practice working across two sites in SE London and Kent. You will be joining a supportive, international team where colleagues come from the UK, Romania, Italy and Poland.

The practice offers a balanced workload and the chance to develop your interests while working alongside an experienced clinical team. The role includes a 38-hour week, a two-week rota pattern, and no OOH.

Oval Vets is based at Welling and treats dogs, cats and small pets, with rabbit-friendly care also noted.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients and support excellent client experiences.
• Work alongside veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team on first opinion cases.
• Take responsibility for nursing care across a varied medical and surgical caseload.
• Carry out nurse clinics, inpatient care, anaesthesia and monitoring, laboratory work and dentistry.
• Help maintain a positive, professional and compassionate environment for clients, patients and colleagues.

Requirements

• Registered as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
• Experience working in clinical practice.
• Growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement.

Benefits

• Up to £29,000 DOE.
• 38 hours per week.
• Two-week rota pattern, with 4 x 8.5-hour shifts in week one and 5 x 8.5-hour shifts in week two, working between 9 am and 6 pm.
• 1:4 Saturdays, 8:30 am to 5 pm, with a day off during the week.
