About the Role

Join Hamilton Specialist Referrals as a Senior Neurology Veterinary Nurse, where you'll lead clinical excellence and mentor a close-knit nursing team. This full-time position works a 4-day week across a rolling 6-week rota with a 1-in-6 weekend pattern, giving you genuine work-life balance alongside complex, rewarding cases.

You'll work at a 24-hour, 365-day specialist hospital equipped with a 16-slice CT scanner, 1.5 Tesla MRI, and dedicated imaging suites. The practice handles orthopaedic, neurology, soft tissue, and internal medicine referrals, delivering advanced treatment under a supportive, values-led culture that actively champions staff development and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Set standards for clinical excellence within the Neurology Nursing Department, championing evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care
• Support the Clinical Team Leader in day-to-day leadership, team organisation, and nursing development
• Mentor and coach nursing colleagues, identifying training needs and fostering a positive learning culture
• Coordinate nursing services and workflow across procedure areas, ensuring efficient resource utilisation and optimal patient flow
• Deliver hands-on nursing support across neurology, medicine, surgery, anaesthesia, and diagnostic services as required
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational effectiveness

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
• Significant clinical experience with a keen interest in neurological cases
• Experience working with complex cases in a referral or advanced-care setting (desirable)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and continuous improvement
• Willingness to work across a rota-based schedule including weekends
