This is a permanent part-time position working approximately 30 hours per week, with shifts running 16:00 to 23:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings, plus a 1 in 4 Saturday rota. You'll deliver advanced nursing care within the dedicated wards facility, supporting the complex case management that defines referral practice and bridging the seamless transition of patients from day to night teams.
Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is a specialist-led small animal hospital that has recently undergone significant expansion. The new facilities include a purpose-built theatre complex, 10 new consulting rooms, and a dedicated rehabilitation centre offering physiotherapy and hydrotherapy for post-operative recovery. Further additions are planned, including a new diagnostic suite and ICU area. You'll work alongside an outstanding team of recognised specialists across multiple disciplines, advanced nursing staff, and dedicated veterinary care assistants.
The hospital provides out-of-hours care for hospitalised medical and surgical inpatients across three distinct wards: two primary dog wards, an ICU/high-dependency unit, and a separate cat ward. An anaesthesia team is available around the clock for emergency procedures, supported by on-call specialists for each discipline providing emergency cover for inpatients.
