This is a referral ophthalmology position at Pride Veterinary Referrals in Derby, offering the chance to manage a varied and rewarding caseload while working closely with colleagues across a multidisciplinary hospital. The role is suited to an ECVO or ACVO Diplomate who wants to combine high-level clinical work with teaching, mentoring and service development.
The post covers both routine and complex ophthalmic cases, with opportunities to contribute to undergraduate teaching through the hospital’s link with the University of Nottingham, as well as clinical club discussions, case presentations and CPD delivery to referring veterinary professionals.
Pride Veterinary Referrals is a large, purpose-built multidisciplinary referral hospital in Derby and part of the Scarsdale Veterinary Group. The hospital provides specialist-led services in anaesthesia and analgesia, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, neurology, oncology and ophthalmology, alongside advanced practitioner-led cardiology and rehabilitation services.
Facilities include thirteen consultation rooms, seven hospital wards, five operating theatres, a dedicated cardiology suite, CT and MRI, interventional radiology, endoscopy, hydrotherapy and an in-house laboratory. The hospital also provides 24-hour inpatient care with dedicated night staff and experienced referral nurses, and it works closely with the University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine and Science.
