Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

You'll be the first point of contact for clients at London Road Veterinary Centre, a well-established two-site small animal practice in King's Lynn with an excellent reputation for clinical quality and teamwork. This part-time role offers 25 hours per week, giving you flexibility while working alongside 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Patient Care Assistants and 7 Client Care colleagues in a spacious, air-conditioned practice just a short distance from beautiful North Norfolk.

The practice is impressively equipped with digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, ECG, endoscopy, anaesthetic monitoring, an in-house laboratory, and a dedicated sterile theatre. As an ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic, the team is committed to delivering the highest standards of care across species-specific kennel areas, a separate dental suite and prep room.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer telephone calls promptly and direct queries to the appropriate colleague
• Book appointments and process prescription requests efficiently
• Register clients and maintain accurate records on the practice management system
• Handle cash, card and cheque payments with accuracy
• Keep the reception and waiting areas clean and welcoming
• Manage stock orders, unpack deliveries and rotate stock appropriately

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build strong client relationships
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative teamwork approach
• Proactive problem-solving ability and a can-do attitude
• Comfortable using computers and quick to learn new systems
• A full UK driving licence
• Previous veterinary reception experience is advantageous but not essential
