Clare Veterinary Group is seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join its team in Ballyclare. This is a full-time, permanent role within a progressive multi-site practice, with a rota built to support work-life balance while still offering a varied and rewarding caseload.
You will be working across first-opinion small animal work, with medical and surgical cases, minimal referrals, and access to a broad range of services in-house. The caseload includes routine consultations, preventative healthcare, diagnostic investigations, surgery, dentistry, imaging and emergency care.
The role includes a shared weekend rota of 1 in 4 weekends, alternating between first and second on-call responsibilities. There is one evening on first on-call every fortnight, two Friday half-days per month, and a regular day off each week. Sunday duties are offset with an additional half day off in lieu.
Clare Veterinary Group is a well-established mixed practice with a strong reputation across County Antrim and beyond. The role sits within its Ballyclare main site, alongside three additional small animal branches in Whiteabbey, Carrickfergus and Cavehill.
The practice is equipped with advanced diagnostics, digital imaging, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, non-complex orthopaedics, an in-house laboratory and 24-hour patient care through its own out-of-hours service. The wider veterinary team includes 25 vets, two certificate holders, 10 Registered Veterinary Nurses, five Student Veterinary Nurses, dedicated clinical support colleagues and an experienced reception and administration team.
