Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

About the Role

This is a permanent part-time position working 32 hours per week across 3 days, with Saturday morning cover on a 1 in 4 rota (9am-5pm). Crucially, there are no night shifts or on-call responsibilities. You'll join a clinical team of 10 veterinary surgeons at Clent Hills Vets, a well-established first opinion practice nestled in Worcestershire countryside, offering easy access to Birmingham while maintaining a peaceful, work-life-friendly location.

You'll work with a varied caseload of consultations, medical investigations and surgical procedures. The practice values collaborative working and ongoing clinical development, so whether you're newly qualified or experienced, you'll find mentors, regional coaches and peer networks to support your growth. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality primary-care consultations, diagnostics and surgery across dogs, cats and small pets
• Work collaboratively with a large clinical team and experienced nursing staff
• Contribute to a positive, learning-focused team culture and support colleagues' professional development
• Maintain excellent standards of patient and client care
• Develop and expand your own clinical skills, with guidance and access to mentorship

Requirements

• Veterinary degree and RCVS registration (or eligibility to register)
• Experience in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients and colleagues
• Proactive approach to learning, openness to feedback and professional development
• Reliability, professionalism and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Genuine commitment to high-quality patient and client care

About the Practice

Clent Hills Vets is a large, well-resourced first opinion practice part of IVC Evidensia (the UK's leading veterinary care provider, trusted with over 2 million animals). The team comprises 10 veterinary surgeons with certificate holders in medicine, feline medicine and surgery, supported by skilled nursing and support staff. Facilities include laparoscopic and orthopaedic surgical equipment, digital and dental X-ray systems, ultrasound with cardiac probe, endoscopes, therapeutic laser, slit lamp/tonometer and in-house laboratory.

The practice is located at 5 Kidderminster Road, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, in a region offering the balance of countryside living with access to city amenities and historic surroundings.
