Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established small animal practice with strong community roots in the heart of Perthshire. Based solely at the Crieff practice, you'll deliver high-quality first opinion care to a loyal client base, working flexible full-time or part-time hours with a shared weekend and out-of-hours rota.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality consultations and preventative healthcare to a diverse first opinion caseload
• Manage varied medical and surgical cases, from routine procedures to more complex presentations
• Work closely with 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses and 2 Animal Care Assistants to provide outstanding patient care
• Build lasting relationships with clients through excellent communication and continuity of care
• Contribute to clinical discussions and share knowledge within the team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons
• Pursue your own clinical interests with ongoing support for CPD and professional development

Requirements

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with RCVS registration
• Experience and confidence in general small animal practice (all levels considered)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A collaborative approach to teamwork and patient care
• Flexibility to work within a shared weekend and out-of-hours rota

About the Practice

Crieff Vets is a long-established small animal practice with strong roots in the local community. The practice combines the friendly feel of a community clinic with modern facilities and equipment, creating an environment where vets feel supported, valued and encouraged to develop.

The team comprises 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses, 2 Animal Care Assistants and an experienced reception team. The practice is well-equipped with laparoscopic surgical equipment, digital ultrasonography, IM3 dental radiography, in-house laboratory, digital radiography and laser therapy equipment.
