Ready to join a supportive team where work-life balance actually exists? This permanent small animal role at Hillman Vets offers clinical freedom, no out-of-hours commitments, and genuine career development in a close-knit practice.
No out-of-hours or on-call required. Role includes Saturday mornings 09:00 to 12:30 on a 1 in 5 rota (weekend day work, not overnight).
You'll join Hillman Vets as a permanent Veterinary Surgeon, working across their Lichfield and Brownhills sites with a varied and rewarding small animal caseload. This is a daytime-only position with no out-of-hours or on-call requirements, offering 36.75 hours per week over four weekdays (09:00 to 19:00) plus Saturday mornings (09:00 to 12:30 on a 1 in 5 rota). The role provides clinical freedom to follow your own cases with regular operating opportunities, and you'll have the chance to specialise further if you wish, whether through studying for a certificate or developing specialist services and treatments.
You'll work collaboratively with a clinical team of 9 FTE vets and 14 FTE RVNs, contributing positively to the practice culture while continuing to develop your skills. The practice is equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasonography, dental machine, doppler blood pressure, laparoscopic bitch spays, nurse-led laser therapy, and phovia lamp consults. Some periods of sole charge working will be required across the two sites.
This opportunity exists because two vets are returning home to Spain for family reasons, creating space in an established team with a strong reputation for supporting their people.
