Veterinary Surgeon, Small Animal

About the Role

This is a part-time opportunity designed around you: 30 hours per week spread across three days, with one Saturday shift every fourth Saturday. You'll join a collaborative small animal practice delivering high-quality first-opinion care to dogs, cats, and small pets in a supportive environment where both you and your patients matter.

You'll work alongside experienced colleagues who value ongoing development and clinical curiosity. Whether you're building confidence in routine medical and surgical cases or exploring emerging clinical interests, there's space to grow here. Your role involves delivering excellent patient care while contributing positively to the team's clinical culture and supporting the development of those around you.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-opinion small animal veterinary care across a varied caseload of dogs, cats, and small pets
• Perform routine medical and surgical procedures with growing clinical confidence
• Build strong, effective relationships with clients and communicate treatment plans clearly
• Work collaboratively with veterinary nurses and support staff to deliver integrated patient care
• Share your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing to the team's clinical development
• Work both independently and as part of the wider practice team

Requirements

• BVSc, BVetMed, or BVMS qualification with RCVS registration (or eligibility to register)
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing competence in routine medical and surgical cases
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
• Professionalism and reliability, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Proactive approach to learning with openness to feedback and development
• Passion for delivering excellent patient and client care
