Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Rowe Veterinary Group as a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon across two well-established practices in Wotton-under-Edge and Thornbury. You'll work alongside an experienced team of vets and registered veterinary nurses, delivering high-quality first-opinion care to a loyal client base. Both branches are modern, well-equipped surgeries offering a varied caseload, with full support from a 24/7 first-opinion hospital and referral centre providing access to advanced diagnostics, inpatient care, emergency services, and specialist referral disciplines.

The role is full-time at 40 hours per week (4 days per week), with flexibility to discuss part-time arrangements for the right candidate. You'll manage a 1:9 weekend rota, ensuring a good work-life balance while remaining part of a supportive clinical network.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting both Wotton-under-Edge and Thornbury branches
• Performing routine consultations and surgeries, and supporting with other cases as needed
• Delivering high standards of first-opinion practice and patient care
• Collaborating with the wider practice team to maintain clinical excellence
• Contributing positively to the clinical culture and supporting colleague development

Requirements

• RCVS registration or eligibility to register as a Veterinary Surgeon
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
• Proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development
• Professionalism, reliability, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Passion for delivering excellent patient and client care
